Removing the LaserJet 4000 Fuser

1. Remove Paper tray and fuser screw covers by pushing in the direction of the arrows |
2. Drop down back door and pull extension of door back. With a small screwdriver, push one side inward to clear lock, remove the other side and back door assembly. |

3. To remove fuser loosen the two screws and pull fuser straight back. |
4. Inspect fuser and gears inside the printer it meshes with. |

1. Remove paper tray and toner cartridge and gently lay printer on it's side. |
4. Replace manual tray pickup roller by pushing down on blue plastic to release it from shaft. |

2. Examine "D" Rollers for wear and replace only if necessary. To remove them: hold the shaft they are on push them straight back while pushing on tab of white plastic. To install snap onto shaft. |
To Reset the Maintenance Display: press and hold "item" and "value" buttons while you turn on the printer |

3. Replace both pickup rollers for each tray by pinching ends and sliding off shaft. You may need to remove the cover over the roller inside the tray. |
